A few years ago, well about 7 or so years ago. A day or 2 before my son’s birthday. My wife and I were looking for a birthday cake in the shape of a bear, or with a picture of a bear on it. This seemed to be too much for some bakeries. As we got questions like… Do you have a picture of a bear you want to put on it or do you have a picture of how you want it to look and plainly, we don’t do bears.
Even at the places who did have bear cakes. It was in our opinion quite expensive. What we later learnt was that the prices weren’t that bad. But I digress.
The next year we decided to make a cake ourselves. After all. How bad could it be.
Well the results below should make our point..
The first birthday cake my wife and I made for our son’s 2nd birthday
And here’s the little man and I with the cake.
It was great being able to so that for him.
It started something.
Niamh’s first birthday cake. We had a ‘bit’ more experience 🙂
Callum’s 3rd Birthday
Best pic I have if it. We weren’t too focused on getting pics for it while in its production
And in the years to come:
Niamh’s 4th birthday:
Beginning stages

And a happy little girl:
Callum’s 6th birthday.
Couldn’t get a very clear pic.

And Niamh’s 5th:
Callum’s 7th Pirate birthday party complete with treasure chest and all:
Finishing off this puppy.
Completed work:
And a happy Pirate:
Niamh’s 5th Birthday:
and Callum’s 8th birthday.
I really liked this one
